Drip block where the row ends got half the water

Acreage and timeline
Avocado ranch, four weeks
What we did
Uniformity test with emitter flow measured at several points along each lateral, which found a sharp pressure drop at the end of the long laterals, a block redesign with split irrigation sets and new emitters, and a second round of measurements to confirm the fix.

Services used

  • Drip irrigation
  • Crop consulting
  • Soil, water and tissue testing

Outcome

  • Flow gap between the first and last emitter corrected
  • Underperforming block brought in line with the rest of the ranch

Season 02 · Small family farms

Fertility program fixed after the first soil test

Acreage and timeline
Fifteen acres, one season
What we did
The farm's first soil and water test, which showed one nutrient applied far above what the crop needed for years and another one short that nobody had considered, a corrected fertility plan by block and in-season visits throughout.

Services used

  • Soil, water and tissue testing
  • Fertility programs
  • Crop consulting

Outcome

  • Unneeded application dropped from the plan, along with its cost
  • A real deficiency found and corrected in the same season

Season 03 · Export growers

Food safety audit prepared with a full season of records

Acreage and timeline
Blueberry farm, one full season
What we did
Gap assessment against the standard at the start of the season, a record-keeping system set up from the first spray, crew training on the required points and a mock audit two weeks before the real visit.

Services used

  • Food safety audits and GAP
  • Pest management
  • Field crew training

Outcome

  • Records built during the season, not in the two weeks before the audit
  • Every mock audit finding closed before the real audit
